Bula! (Welcome) to
Fijian Families Village Homestay

If you would prefer an alternative to staying at one of those exclusive island resorts, then you may want to consider this alternative or if you prefer to stay in a hotel or resort, you may want to come spend at least a few days with us. Come to one of our beautiful island villages to spend some time with us. Enjoy our laid-back lifestyle, our unique culture, and enjoy delicious, authentic Fijian cuisine.

As a way to generating income, a few villagers have opened their native lands to visitors by offering traditional Fijian hospitality. The visitor will live with and become a part of a family in the village.

We suggest the following:

Find the best deal, compare hotels prices in the Fiji Islands

Message from the webmaster

My name is Betty, I am a friend of the Fijian people, I am located within the United States. I created the Fijian Families website and I also pay the cost to maintain it. I help arrange visitors overnight stay at the villages; I do not accept money from the villagers nor do I accept money from you, my main goal is to let the world know about the unique fijian culture. This is an informational site, I will help you make connection with your village host.

Cost

If you stay at one of the villages, we recommend that you donate $40 ($Fiji Dollars) per day per person. This donation include three meals a day, activities, and accommodation.

When visiting a village it is customary to present a gift of yagona, which is also known as kava. The cost is approximately $15 to $20.

Your village host won't ask that you pay because this is not part of their culture. They will treat you the same whether you paid something or not. Please keep it in mind, and in your heart, that these villages live a simple life and have little funding and every little bit that you give does help them out tremendously.

Fiji is more than just a beautiful paradise, the people are genuinely friendly.
